MENLO PARK, CA, March 14, 2012 – PixyKids (www.pixykids.com), an interactive and immersive social media platform where kids 6-12 can create, share, learn, and have fun through their personalized digital space, today announced that it has secured financing of $3 million including a $2 million investment by ATA Ventures and $1 million from other angel investors.  Co-Founded by CEO, Rajul Kadakia, Kalpesh Savla, and Altaf Shaikh, the company also announced the appointment of accomplished industry experts Michael Adair, Chief Operating Officer, Neil Markey, Vice President, Engineering, and Kristen Alexander, Vice President, Marketing.

PixyKids aspires to become a premier social platform where kids can create their own content through interactive tools and apps, connect and share with family and friends, and build and publish a curated digital portfolio, all in an uninhibited yet safe manner.  All kids create content – photos, videos, artwork, and projects – but options for how to customize and share that content with friends and family online are extremely limited.  Many popular sites have not been built expressly for kids under age 13, while others have restrictive feature sets.  PixyKids is being specifically developed for this segment and embraces family as key participants in the digital ecosystem kids are exploring.  In fact, kids this age still seek out their parents for advice, particularly when it comes to navigating online, and also continue to seek parental recognition for personal achievements.
